Incouts – Früher war alles anders

Hi y’all,

I recently did a product presentation film for the Austrian startup “Inscouts”. However, this one is a little bit different from what you would expect from a “product presentation”, it’s really a short film, and Manuel Gruber and the gang came up with a smooth story, a great cast, a terrific team and a cool concept for the music. We had a lot of fun, although it was quite a bit of work (which comes naturally when you start without a proper briefing). I recorded guitars, violin and some more stuff with my dad, and Manuel asked his brother and his brother’s friends to help out with the horns. But you may want to check it out yourself, here it is:

Between Bar – A short film by Pauline Flory

Hi y’all,

before the year is over I have to issue a blogpost for 2015 – I realize that nothing has been written yet. There have been two projects this year worth mentioning, one of them is a short film that I am about to finish:

Pauline Flory has made an amazing 5-minute short film called “Between Bar”, where her protagonist enters a bar an tries to become a part of this universe – in vain? There is some alcohol involved as well as a few interesting halluci… visions.

Music has been written and recorded and the sound design ist basically done, so I am in the process of finishing the mix for the film. See it soon (like…2016) at a film festival near you…!

All the best,
Alexander.

PS: Check out a really short, but really interesting making-of here.

2014 in review

hi y’all,

just like every year, here’s the statistics. quite interesting. this is a tiny blog, but it’s large enough to create some stats. here they are:

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 400 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 7 trips to carry that many people.

Benjamin Swiczinsky’s “Heldenkanzler” now online!

Hi there,

this one is a film that is dealing with Austrian history, namely with Austria’s fascist dictator Engelbert Dollfuß. Benjamin came up with a very funny version of Dollfuß’ history and also touched upon his relationships to other dictators that were popular then. Definitely check out this one, it is funny and shocking as well. And you may learn something about (European) history, which is always a good thing. It may be a good idea to look up the facts after watching, since some artistic freedom may have been taken (but the basic facts are correct). Have fun!

All the best,
Alexander.

Johannes Schiehsl’s “366 Tage” now online!

Hi there, Johannes Schiehsl’s amazing short film “366 Tage” is now online – check it out! I had the opportunity to contribute music and sound to this film. Johannes usually has a very strong vision with regards to the sound design of his productions. It was a lot of fun dealing with his vision and a challenge to even improve upon his well-worked-out sound layouts. The film is based upon his experiences as an Austrian (mandatory) civil servant. all the best, Alexander.

Commercial for “Sankt Johann Alpendorf” now online…

Hi y’all,

here’s a small commercial that I did recently with Neuer Österreichischer Trickfilm, for Sankt Johann Alpendorf, a village located in a skiing region. The spot is now running in virtually any cinema in Austria. It’s just a short little spot, but it’s fun to watch since Conrad had many great ideas with regards to the settings and locations. Have fun!

all the best,
Alexander.
